After months of silence and inactivity, work on The Wave at Bristol will now begin in earnest following the announcement that South Gloucestershire Council have approved revised plans for the site. Although initial planning was approved and in place, a change to engineering designs meant the team had to re-apply for planning permission.

Using SurfLoch technology, The Wave Bristol is promising to bring the worlds longest artificial wave to Almondsbury and will form the centrepiece at the 40 acre site. The £6 million project will offer waves for all abilities, creating knee to headhigh waves in 3 separate surf zones. The site will also include sensory gardens, a natural swimming pool, accommodation, cafe and shop.
We can’t wait to see the first turf cut and heavy machinery rolling onto the site in the next few weeks and you will be able to keep up to speed with all developments at The Wave here. Are you pleased to hear that work will finally be getting underway in Bristol and what do you think about the chosen location for The Wave?
