It would seem as though Groms are taking over the ocean. Earlier this week, we brought you news of Billabong signing up young Jay Ochillupo, son of Occy at the tender age of eleven, well he’s not the only pre-teen who is causing a stir. It seems as though there is another new kid on the block, this time it is 11-year old Xavier Huxtable.
Xavier has grown up in Torquay, Victoria, Australia and when you start locking into his pedigree, it turns out he is a veteran of the Grom circuit. The video we have placed below this article shows young Xavier in fine fettle and Surfing with confidence, strength and style well beyond his tender years. In fact, when you watch it, it is hard to believe you are watching a boy Surfing and not a 20 year old man.
He Surfs with a great fluidity and puts a tremendous amount of power into his turns, and is one of the most natural Surfers we have ever seen. With Xavier and Jay at the helm of youth Surfing, you can rest assured that our sport is in very good hands and you can expect to see both of these young whippersnappers on the Pro Tour before long and for many years to come.
Check out the video below and let us know if you have ever seen a more confident 11-year old in the water and who is going to lift the World Title first – Jay or Xavier?
