When the zombie apocalypse comes and I become an infected, I hope that instead of a thirst for flesh I will still have a taste for the ocean, much like the three zombie surfers featured in the new video to accompany Nicolas Godin’s latest release ‘Stay Away From Sin.’ The mesmerising and powerful film to accompany the hauntingly beautiful track follows the zombies enjoying a day at the beach, catching a few waves and partying into the night.
Simone Robb, Michael February and Matthew Moir are three pro surfers from South Africa that were cast to play the 3 main surfing zombies and maybe the film is a metaphor for how we all instinctively and hopelessly migrate to the ocean to get our fix of sin? Whatever the reasoning behind the video, the whole thing is a triumph, with amazing costumes and make up, some fantastic waves and surfing and a refreshingly original concept.
The track “Widerstehe doch der Sünde” (Stay Away From Sin) is taken from the new Nicolas Godin album, Contrepoint which is due for release on September 18th 2015. The full surfing zombie video, directed by The Sacred Egg and produced by Riff Raff films can be found beneath this article. Why not share your thoughts on both the song and the video below and when the time comes are you going to crave flesh or waves?
